What Our Clients are Saying

I have been taking Pilates (both on the machines and the mat) for more than 15 years, and Caitlyn is my favorite instructor. She has total command of all that Pilates has to offer, and she can, therefore, vary her classes so that we get the benefits of a wide range of exercises. Her ability to explain the movements we’re doing and articulate the prompts makes it so easy to follow the flow of the class. The time flies by when I’m taking a class with Caitlyn.

After a few years of working with Caitlyn, I feel stronger and more toned, and my balance has improved significantly. It is always a pleasure to have my sessions with her, as she is so friendly and upbeat. In addition, her knowledge of anatomy is such that she can always answer any questions I come up with about the purposes of various moves. When I occasionally have physical issues, like a recent thumb dislocation, Caitlyn pivots seamlessly to routines that don’t threaten the problem area. Caitlyn’s background in ballet clearly informs her practice as a Pilates instructor — she is simply a consummate fitness professional and a very delightful young woman!

Caitlyn is a wonderful Pilates instructor. She is knowledgeable, positive, engaging, and she helps me truly enjoy Pilates. Her classes are never boring. She’s always introducing new things, and is very aware of body positioning making sure I benefit from each movement. I started pilates with a lot of pain and limited hip and leg range. Caitlyn made sure that each class included movements to help improve my problem areas. As I learn more, she provides me with feedback to continually improve my alignment and strength. Today, almost a year later, I’m pain free with better range of motion in my legs and hips. It makes me emotional knowing how far I’ve come. Caitlyn made that possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?2025-08-13T13:37:38-04:00

If you are new to Pilates or haven’t done Pilates in awhile, we ask that you start with our new client intro offer of 2 private sessions at a discounted rate. You will learn the fundamentals of Pilates to ensure you get the most out of your practice. Remember, Pilates is a journey, and it takes time to build strength and improve your skills. Be patient with yourself and enjoy the process!

Do I need any experience?2025-08-13T13:38:03-04:00

We don’t expect you to have any prior knowledge. We can help you get from wherever you are to where you want to be.

Do I Need to Be Flexible to Start Pilates?2025-08-13T13:38:25-04:00

Absolutely not! Pilates helps you become more flexible, but no baseline flexibility is required to begin. We meet you where you are, and improvements come with time.

Can I do Pilates if I have an injury?2025-08-13T13:38:46-04:00

Yes, Pilates is a beneficial tool for injury recovery and rehabilitation, and our certified instructors will offer the necessary modifications. Pilates offers a low-impact approach to exercise, focusing on controlled movements and core engagement, which can aid in restoring range of motion, building strength, and improving flexibility without further aggravating the injury. We have experience with clients with hip replacements, knee replacements, shoulder injuries, broken toes, broken wrists, and much more. We can help you modify for just about every issue. Be sure to let us know before your class or private session so we can guide you accordingly.

What if I have back pain?2025-08-13T13:44:55-04:00

Always check with your doctor first. In most cases, Pilates is beneficial for people with back injuries. Our instructors are very familiar with common back issues such as osteoarthritis, fused vertebrae, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, and spondyliosis/spondylolisthesis. There are countless modifications that can be made to improve your comfort and practice within the guidelines of your physician or physical therapist’s movement parameters (we are happy to work with them). In most cases, developing core strength is extremely helpful for back conditions.

Can I do Pilates when I am pregnant?2025-08-13T13:40:36-04:00

Pilates is an excellent exercise method during pregnancy. Pilates can help your body deal with the physical changes you are experiencing and also help prepare you for labor and delivery. We will put together a program that addresses your individual needs.

Is Pilates only for women?2025-08-13T13:39:35-04:00

No way! While Pilates is often associated with women, it was created by a man named Joseph Pilates to benefit both men and women. We welcome everyone, and many athletes and men enjoy the benefits of increased core strength, control, and stability.

Will Pilates help me lose weight?2025-08-13T13:39:55-04:00

Even if you don’t lose a pound, you will look like you have because your posture and body shape will be stronger and straighter. Pilates will help you lengthen and strengthen every muscle in your body. By doing so you will burn calories more efficiently. Pilates combined with a healthy diet and cardio activity is a great healthy way to lose weight. Your body will also change shape doing Pilates. You will stand up straighter, your abdominals will be flatter and more engaged, and your shoulders will stack on top of your hips.

How often should I come in?2025-08-13T13:40:17-04:00

Any amount of Pilates is beneficial, and it is something you could do every day! For most clients, we recommend 2-3 times per week in order to achieve consistent and noticeable results. Joseph Pilates recommended doing Pilates 3 times a week. Like anything, the more you do it, the quicker your body and mind will understand the exercises and feel and see progress.

How long are the sessions?2025-08-13T13:40:56-04:00

All private sessions and group classes are 55 minutes to allow for clean up and a smooth transition between clients.

What payment methods do you accept?2025-09-03T22:52:20-04:00

New clients must pay by credit card through the scheduling system to reserve your private session or spot in class. You can then choose to prepay for future sessions in person with check or continue to pay online with credit card. All sessions must be paid for at or before time of booking.

What should I wear?2025-08-13T13:41:18-04:00

Feel free to wear what makes you feel comfortable and does not restrict your body from moving freely. You will be in all different positions so make sure to wear something that will stay put whether lying down, on your feet, legs in the air – you get the idea! For both hygiene and safety, grip socks are required for all Pilates sessions. If you forget yours, we have socks available for purchase at the studio. We kindly ask that you take out any hair clips as they can damage the pillows, upholstery, and other equipment.

Are grippy socks required?2025-08-13T13:41:38-04:00

For both hygiene and safety, grippy socks are required for all Pilates sessions. If you forget yours, we have socks available for purchase at the studio.

What should I bring?2025-08-13T13:41:57-04:00

Your smile, water, and your grippy socks! We sell grippy socks in the studio if you need a pair. They are required for all Pilates sessions. We have all the equipment you need, including mats and all props.

I need to cancel my session. What is your cancellation policy?2025-08-13T13:43:25-04:00

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If a booked private session is cancelled within 24 hours of the start time or if the client does not show, the full fee for that session will still be charged (a rare exception may be made in case of a true emergency or sudden illness/injury).

Do packages expire?2025-08-11T08:54:26-04:00

Yes, packages expire 4 months from date of purchase. Packages may be used by anyone of your choosing (for instance: instead of late canceling, a friend or family member may use that session).
