Be patient with yourself and enjoy the process!

Do I need any experience?2025-08-13T13:38:03-04:00

We don’t expect you to have any prior knowledge. We can help you get from wherever you are to where you want to be.

Do I Need to Be Flexible to Start Pilates?2025-08-13T13:38:25-04:00

Absolutely not! Pilates helps you become more flexible, but no baseline flexibility is required to begin. We meet you where you are, and improvements come with time.

Can I do Pilates if I have an injury?2025-08-13T13:38:46-04:00

Yes, Pilates is a beneficial tool for injury recovery and rehabilitation, and our certified instructors will offer the necessary modifications. Pilates offers a low-impact approach to exercise, focusing on controlled movements and core engagement, which can aid in restoring range of motion, building strength, and improving flexibility without further aggravating the injury. We have experience with clients with hip replacements, knee replacements, shoulder injuries, broken toes, broken wrists, and much more. We can help you modify for just about every issue. Be sure to let us know before your class or private session so we can guide you accordingly.

What if I have back pain?2025-08-13T13:44:55-04:00

Always check with your doctor first. In most cases, Pilates is beneficial for people with back injuries. Our instructors are very familiar with common back issues such as osteoarthritis, fused vertebrae, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, and spondyliosis/spondylolisthesis. There are countless modifications that can be made to improve your comfort and practice within the guidelines of your physician or physical therapist’s movement parameters (we are happy to work with them). In most cases, developing core strength is extremely helpful for back conditions.

Can I do Pilates when I am pregnant?2025-08-13T13:40:36-04:00

Pilates is an excellent exercise method during pregnancy. Pilates can help your body deal with the physical changes you are experiencing and also help prepare you for labor and delivery. We will put together a program that addresses your individual needs.

Is Pilates only for women?2025-08-13T13:39:35-04:00

No way! While Pilates is often associated with women, it was created by a man named Joseph Pilates to benefit both men and women. We welcome everyone, and many athletes and men enjoy the benefits of increased core strength, control, and stability.

Will Pilates help me lose weight?2025-08-13T13:39:55-04:00

Even if you don’t lose a pound, you will look like you have because your posture and body shape will be stronger and straighter. Pilates will help you lengthen and strengthen every muscle in your body. By doing so you will burn calories more efficiently. Pilates combined with a healthy diet and cardio activity is a great healthy way to lose weight. Your body will also change shape doing Pilates. You will stand up straighter, your abdominals will be flatter and more engaged, and your shoulders will stack on top of your hips.

How often should I come in?2025-08-13T13:40:17-04:00

Any amount of Pilates is beneficial, and it is something you could do every day! For most clients, we recommend 2-3 times per week in order to achieve consistent and noticeable results. Joseph Pilates recommended doing Pilates 3 times a week. Like anything, the more you do it, the quicker your body and mind will understand the exercises and feel and see progress.

What payment methods do you accept?2025-09-03T22:52:20-04:00

What should I wear?2025-08-13T13:41:18-04:00

Feel free to wear what makes you feel comfortable and does not restrict your body from moving freely. You will be in all different positions so make sure to wear something that will stay put whether lying down, on your feet, legs in the air – you get the idea! For both hygiene and safety, grip socks are required for all Pilates sessions. If you forget yours, we have socks available for purchase at the studio. We kindly ask that you take out any hair clips as they can damage the pillows, upholstery, and other equipment.
